A Short Profile of Conductor and Pianist of Koir Guru Daerah Batang Padang 2012.

Conductor
Dr. Andrew Stewart Blackburn
A Professor at Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, UPSI. Studied for his Bachelor of Music at University of Melbourne and was 1st class honor in performance. Having his master of Music with Baroque Musicology at University of Melbourne. His thesis for his Master of music was on Styles in the Church Music of Henry Purcell. Pursued his doctoral at Griffith University from 2005 to 2011. He was now a Doctor of Musical Arts.  He was once a music director at Tudor Choristers, director of music at Toorak Uniting Church, director at Kinross House.





Pianist
Mr. Tham Horng Kent
26 from Sabah, Malaysia. Currently is a lecturer at Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, UPSI. He was a recipient of 2007 Asia Yamaha Music Scholarship for Classical Piano. Studied at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and completed his MMus. with distinction. He is one of the Malaysian who received Piano Scholarship from Asia Yamaha Music Scholarship. He had performed in various competition such as HSBC classics in 2008, piano recital solo at UPM (Universiti Putra Malaysia) in 2009. His upcoming performance will be at the Kerikeri International Piano Competition 2012 at Kerikeri, New Zealand on 29 June 2012.
